Top Quarterbacks for the 2022 NFL Season

Introduction

It's never too early to start thinking about this upcoming NFL season, even if it seems like we still haven't finished the pre-season yet. But they've been playing at a high level for years; it's not like any of them are going to fall off any time soon. So without further ado, here are the Top Quarterbacks who are likely to light it up in 2022:

Tom Brady

It's Tom Brady, The GOAT!

Tom Brady is a legendary QB. He has won 7 Super Bowls and 5 Super Bowl MVP awards.

His career stats are 84,520 Career Passing Yards, 624 Passing TDs, 25 Rushing TDs, and a 97.6 Career Passer Rating.

He has an offense that features Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Julio Jones, Russell Gage, Leonard Fournette, Gio Bernard, Scotty Miller, and Cameron Brate at TE as well as Kyle Rudolph at TE2 if you want to mix it up with a 2TE set.

Aaron Rodgers

You may be wondering why the top quarterback on our list isn’t Aaron Rodgers. It’s obvious that he is one of the best QBs in the league, but he's probably only behind Brady who is the GOAT.

What makes him so great is that he has been able to stay healthy for most of his career and has also won a championship and 4 league MVP awards including two in a row recently. He is also 38 years old so there is still plenty of time for him to continue playing at an elite level.

For those reasons, I think Aaron Rodgers should be considered one of the best quarterbacks ever because he has accomplished everything possible during his career including being Super Bowl Champion and winning 4 League MVP awards (2 in a row).

55,360 Career Passing Yards, 449 Passing TD's, 34 Rushing TD's and a 104.5 Career Passer Rating

His Offense this Season Won't Feature Devante Adams but Rodgers will look to win his 2nd Lombardi Trophy and his 5th MVP with Allen Lazard, Sammy Watkins, Randall Cobb, Aaron Jones, AJ Dillon, and Marcedes Lewis as his offensive pieces.

Patrick Mahomes

Patrick Mahomes enters his 6th year in the NFL and is coming off a phenomenal run the last few seasons.

He led the Chiefs to a Super Bowl and also won Super Bowl MVP.

He has 151 Career Passing TDs and just under 19000 Passing Yards in 4 years as a KC Starting QB.

He lost Tyreek Hill who was one of his favorite targets over the last 3 seasons. However, he gained JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling along with Sky Moore which should help him out immensely on offense. He also has Travis Kelce at TE who is considered by many experts to be the best Tight End in all of football right now alongside Mecole Hardman, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Ronald Jones, and Jerrick McKinnon as well as an improved offensive line compared to last year’s squad

Lamar Jackson

Lamar Jackson is the most electric player in football right now. While his passing game still needs some work, he has shown that he can be an effective passer in the NFL.

98.1 Passer Rating, 84 Passing TDs, 9,967 Passing Yards 3673 Rushing Yards & 21 Rushing TDs

Jackson is still one of the best athletes to ever step foot on an NFL field and will be able to make plays with both his arm and legs for years to come if given help from his supporting cast like Mark Andrews, Rashod Bateman, and JK Dobbins who comes back this season from injury.

Josh Allen

Josh Allen is a beast. He has quickly put himself in the conversation for one of the Top 5 QBs in the league along with names like Mahomes, Brady, and Rodgers. Josh Allen led his team to an AFC West title last year after beating both Kansas City and New England on their home fields during the regular season.

He played great in their playoff game against Kansas City despite losing to them in OT of the Divisional Round.

He made big plays in games versus both New England and Kansas City

Allen also has some impressive stats on paper as well. His career passing yards: 14114 yards; 103 Career Passing Touchdowns; 2325 Rushing Yards and 31 Rushing Touchdowns (10 more than Lamar Jackson)

Justin Herbert

Justin Herbert is one of the best young quarterbacks to watch in the NFL. He has an excellent start to his career and is surrounded by talent in LA. The Cardinals have a good offensive line, which makes it easier for any quarterback to succeed.

Herbert has thrown for 9,350 yards and 69 touchdowns over three seasons. He has a 97.9 career passer rating l It's impressive that he's done this while being only 24 years old; he could continue improving with another year or two under his belt after this season.

Joe Burrow

Joe Burrow has turned into one of the most exciting quarterbacks in the NFL. He's off to a great start to his career despite missing his rookie season with an injury. In 2021 he led the Bengals to an unlikely AFC Championship and Super Bowl berth where they fell to the Rams.

Joe's outstanding performance on offense earned him Comeback Player of the Year honors and 100+ QB Rating to add on to 7,299 Passing Yards & 47 Passing TD's.

In 2022 he will look to build on last year's success as he enters his 3rd NFL Season at age 25. His Offense features probably the best Wide Reciever Trio in the NFL: Tee Higgins, Ja'Mar Chase, and Tyler Boyd. Also on offense Joe Mixon, Hayden Hurst, Semaje Perine, and Chris Evans

Matthew Stafford

Matthew Stafford is the quarterback for reigning Super Bowl Champions, the Los Angeles Rams. The QB has a career 49,995 passing yards and 323 TDs to his name.

The former Georgia Bulldog has a long NFL career under his belt after being the number 1 overall pick by Detroit Lions where he had been until last season when he was traded to the Rams in the offseason. It worked out for him winning his 1st ring.

With Cooper Kupp coming back healthy along with Allen Robinson II signing as well as new additions Van Jefferson and Tyler Higbee. Stafford will look to get more comfortable in Sean McVay's offense and try to make a repeat for another Super Bowl

Russell Wilson

Russell Wilson is now the QB for the Denver Broncos but the goal remains the same.

Wilson won a Super Bowl ring and made 9 Pro Bowls.

He holds a 101.9 Career Passer Rating, 37,059 Passing Yards & 292 TDs to his name.

He has been one of the most consistent players and best leaders in football since entering the league and this season should not be any different as he prepares to lead an offense that includes Jerry Jeudy, Cortland Sutton, Tim Patrick (out for the season), Albert Okwuegbunam, Melvin Gordon and KJ Hamler.

Dak Prescott

Dak Prescott has been the QB for "America's Team" since 2016, and that pressure doesn't seem to get to him at all.

He is an absolute stud in this league, leading his team to victory after victory but still has his eyes set on a Lombardi Trophy.

As one of the best Quarterbacks in the NFL today, Dak has been able to take every challenge faced by him head-on and come out victorious. If you are looking for someone who knows how to make plays happen when they need them most then look no further than Dak Prescott because he always seems ready for whatever comes his way on any given Sunday (or Monday).

He will look to add to his career numbers 22,083 Passing Yards, 143 Passing TD's, 98.7 Passer Rating and 25 Rushing TD's with help from CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup, James Washington, Dalton Shultz, Zeke Elliot and Tony Pollard on offense.

Even though the best QB for the 2022 season is still up for debate, we gave you our rundown of them now.

You can bet that the best QB for the 2022 season is still up for debate, but we can give you our rundown of them now.

Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, and Patrick Mahomes are at the top of our list. Each is a proven veteran who has won Super Bowls and MVPs multiple times over.

Lamar Jackson should also be taken seriously as he seems poised for another break-out season in 2022 which is a contract year for him.

If these seasoned veterans can stay healthy throughout the season, they will continue to be legitimate Super Bowl contenders until only 1 is left hoisting the Lombardi Trophy

Conclusion

We’re still a few weeks away from knowing who the best quarterback will be in 2022, but there are plenty of players to keep an eye on. Tom Brady may be 45 when that season rolls around but he still looks like one of the best QBs in the league. Aaron Rodgers also has plenty left in his tank, so don’t count him out yet either! Allen, Mahomes, and Jackson look to solidify their places as the new faces of the NFL's Top QB.
